Pathological Evaluation of Using Scenario Planning in Academic Theses Focusing on Tourism-Related Subjects

Given the increasing number of studies using scenario planning (SP) approach, particularly in field tourism, aim present study is to evaluate challenges and deficiencies theses that have employed Futures Studies (FS) SP method context then categorize these into groups describe them. Twenty-three in-depth interviews were carried out with university graduates, as well professors. Data analysis was performed MAXQDA software. The results show most important this include 1) inadequate knowledge students about FS research methods, 2) not knowing nature uncertainties, especially tourism context, 3) topics being inconsistent needs Iranian sector, 4) lack facilities share between universities are active area Iran. Recommendations provided address challenges.
